Welcome to Seaview Grove

The view at Seaview Grove
We are a family owned and managed business in the Fleurieu Peninsula of South Australia, established in 2010. We aim to produce high quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) direct from the farm to your kitchen.
Our Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a premium product. Our olives are harvested and processed within 24 hours to ensure freshness and are packaged with the "bag in a box" technique that maintains freshness and maximum flavour whilst keeping your pantry clean thanks to the no-drip tap. We use organic fertilisers and sprays and employ sustainable agriculture practices. Please see our product info page for more information on Extra Virgin Olive Oil, what this means and how it ensures the best quality for you.

Harvest

Harvesting at Seaview Grove
Harvest occurs in May and our Straight From The Press EVOO is quickly packaged within 36 hours of harvest.
Our Premium EVOO needs time to settle and is packaged in late August once the sediment has been decanted.  Visit our online store, or drop in to one of our stockists.

Empower each community to feed their own and you will feed the world.

History

Owners of Seaview Grove
Andrew, Emily and Stirling moved to Seaview Grove in July 2010 after falling in love with the spectacular views on offer and the 10 acre olive grove that showed "potential."  The olive trees varied from 5-8 years old, had never been harvested before, and were a few years overdue on pruning.  Coming from a dairy farming background they were excited about the prospect of never having to round-up any stray olive trees and being able to farm without the pressure of twice a day milking. Andrew and Emily have long shared a dream to be able to live a self-sustaining life in rural Australia, and the purchase of Seaview Grove has made this possible. Mitchell arrived in 2012 and has taken on the official role of taste testing!

Revegetation

Picture
The rest of the farm is in the process of being fenced off into smaller paddocks for our small beef herd and we have fenced off two significant gullies for a revegetation project.  The two gullies are being cleared of noxious weeds and planted out with native seedlings that we have been growing out on our front verandah.

 Our First Pruning

Andrew's father is excited about pruning!
After going through many, many chainsaw blades, hand saws, loppers and putting family members off from ever visiting us again, we finally had 10 acres of what was starting to look like an Olive Grove.  We had a successful but small harvest and have since fertilised with gypsum, lime, composted chicken manure and sprayed the trees with an organic insecticide (white oil) and organic copper.  The irrigation system was up and running for the 2011/12 summer and the trees were starting to look a lot healthier.

 The Garden

Picture
The house surrounds are being landscaped to accommodate multiple raised garden beds for vegetables, a small orchard has been planted and chooks introduced to keep the bugs at bay and provide us with a steady supply of eggs.  In keeping with our ambition to live a sustainable life on the land, an 8.5kW solar system was installed in December 2011.  Whilst a bore is used to irrigate the Olive Grove and supply the cows with drinking water, the entire house and surrounding gardens rely solely on rainwater.
