After many lengthy delays it was a music to the ears to finally hear the rumble of two yellow reptilian like harvesters crawling into the grove on Thursday morning to begin this years harvest. Last year I dramatically over predicted how many bins we would require. This year I under predicted the amount of bins we needed for the olives. A welcome problem saw me rushed off my feet as I scrambled for more bins whilst trying to retrieve the bins they were filling to get them out of the way so they could continue harvesting. We finally delivered the last bin to the processing plant at Willunga last night where they processed throughout the night. The end result was twice as many bins as I had predicted. A great problem to have!! The processor was very impressed with the quality of the olives and I can't wait to taste it this morning. We will be packaging all of the Straight From The Press orders throughout today and probably into tomorrow. Goolwa deliveries will be happening on Monday and we will be in contact over the weekend with those of you that live outside of the Goolwa region and have placed orders. We will continue to take orders until midnight tonight for the Straight From The Press oil. After this, the oil will be stored for 3 months in order to remove the sediment to create our Premium range. We will let everyone know when this becomes available.
